A Collection Officer is liable for performing loss mitigation, follow up and recovery activities on the portfolio which has been assigned to him/ her and recover loan outstanding amount from delinquent or charged-off accounts in compliance with the Bank and legal guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

  • Overall monitoring of loan outstanding portfolio which is assigned and Identifying delinquent or potential delinquent customers along with the reasons of default in the area/ branches.
  • Identify and conduct surveys of new working areas for group formation.
  • Liaison with branch manager and credit officers for prompt recoveries
  • Collections officers attempt to collect payment on overdue bills by informing customers of their debt and their various options for repayment.
  • Motivate the customer for on-time loan repayment
  • Fill relevant documentation with 100% accuracy and collect supporting documents.
  • Locating customers and maintaining constant contact for on-time loan recovery.
  • Telephonic follow-up of clients on a daily basis.
  • Complete documentation as per the bank’s policy.
  • Ensure office decorum, staff discipline & the highest level of integrity.
  • Ensure that the Bank’s data confidentiality is maintained.
  • Ensure compliance of SBP prudential regulations.
  • Any other responsibility assigned by the line manager.

Technical Competency

  • Knowledge of the banking MIS & Bucket management/classification of portfolio/ Target oriented approach
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, Banking systems, Customer  data screening/ data collection & upgradation in the CBS
  • Strong follow-up/ reminder mechanism/ Market filed working/ tracing/ convening power

Soft Competency

  • Good understanding of Market/ Relationship management/ use of different tools.

Experience and Qualification

  • Should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce or any related discipline
